It's getting there...
Admittedly, I was very close to refunding as Skimming AI just wasn't quite cutting it. Some kinks and bugs in performance, sub satisfactory token output, not using the latest AI models, and overall just a feeling of not quite ready for mainstream. However, I gave some initial feedback (as did many others on here and their discord), the skimming team responded promptly and within a few days added and improved many features based on user feedback (increased output length, increased file upload size to 500mb, added claude 3.7 and chat gpt o3). If things continue at this trajectory, I think it will be a fantastic tool to have in the arsenal.

Very good so far with minor bugs
Just grabbed Skimming AI from AppSumo and honestly, it's good so far for my YouTube workflow! Been using it daily to catch up on long videos I never had time for. The way it pulls out the important stuff. There's this small annoying thing where you gotta manually put in the URL to get fresh summaries (it keeps showing old ones otherwise), but honestly, I can live with that. Totally worth the money if you watch a lot of YouTube content for work or learning. Hoping they'll fix that bug soon, but even with it, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. If you're a fellow Sumo-ling sitting on the fence about this one, just go for it!

not tested with massive files
but the smaller ones I tried the app is working nicely
put in a website link of a lecture , like the format of split view but the lecture window in dark mode is "dull" and can not read( like a dark layer has been placed over it instead of light text on a dark background) but the ai side is ok
maybe this small thing can be tweaked. (maybe also zoomable)
but for early days it is very promising
new apps that do well are often characterized by devs that give support and updates
and skimming is excelling in this area
a new app, so will need feedback to gain momentum, and questions are being answered and updates are rolling out so it is looking good.
hope the limits have been calculated ok, to keep the developer in business as they seem generous.

Seems Unfinished
I haven't been able to get this product to work and adding even the smallest of data sources is painfully slow. It will not accept MD markdown files and adding private files from cloud storage like dropbox is not possible. When I uploaded images they are not run through any OCR and only said "I'm unable to analyze or describe the image you've provided". Adding more than one file at a time does not seem possible (at least on mobile) and I could not find a way to nest or link data sources once they're added. It's nice to see there is an actual native android app, but it's limited compared to an already lacking site.
